Legal Profession Admission Board

Sending your documentary evidence

We will not start processing your admission application until we receive all your documentary evidence.

What documentary evidence is required?

After you answer all questions in the application form, the online Admission Portal will generate a personalised Admission Checklist which lists all the documentary evidence required in your particular circumstances.

How do I provide my evidence?

After you have submitted you online admission application form, you need to:

  1. print your personalised Admission Checklist and gather all the required documentary evidence
  2. print your Application Summary, and sign the:
    • statutory declaration in the presence of an authorised witness
    • consent to a National Police History Check in Australia
    • consent to a check of your student conduct
  3. scan all of the above material into a single PDF digital file with:
    • the Admission Checklist and Application Summary at the beginning
    • all documentary evidence in the order set out in the Admission Checklist
  4. email the PDF to lpab@justice.nsw.gov.au
  5. forward any original/authenticated evidence that the LPAB requires.

Do not email the PDF if any documentary evidence is missing, and do not email multiple separate PDFs.  All documentary evidence must be included in a single PDF file.

What original/authenticated evidence is required?

In addition to sending a PDF by email, most applicants are required to provide:

  1. an original/authenticated version of Australian academic transcript(s)* AND
  2. an original/authenticated version of an Australian PLT letter of completion (unless you are a foreign-admitted lawyer exempted from PLT).

*  If you met the academic prerequisite for admission though study in the LPAB's Diploma in Law Course, you do not need to send us your LPAB academic transcript as we have it in your student record.

Accepted formats for your evidence of qualifications

You may provide your Australian academic transcript(s) and Australian PLT letter of completion in any of the following formats:

  • a digital link generated by the My eQuals digital credentials platform (without any Access PIN please)

OR

  • a PDF copy that has been emailed to us directly from an official email address of the issuing institution.
