Diploma in Law examinations are administered by the Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB) and are held once each semester.

Examination Timetable

Examinations will be held Thursday 4 September to Thursday 11 September 2025. Check the Examination Timetable for the date and time of your exams, available here (PDF, 123.8 KB)

Examination Centres

All candidates are required to sit their exams in person at an LPAB examination centre. You can view a list of exam centres with location information here  (PDF, 161.8 KB).  

The final day to make any changes to your examination venue is 10 July 2025. 

Examination Format (Open or Closed)

At the beginning of each term, LPAB examiners determine whether each subject will be assessed as open or closed book. A list specifying the exam format for each subject in Semester 2, 2025 (Winter) is available here (PDF, 236.1 KB).  

Examination Mode 

Candidates at LPAB examination centres will be able to choose to handwrite their exam or type their exam on their own device.  Information will be distributed before the first weekend school.

Online exams in the LPAB's Diploma in Law Course are only available in exceptional circumstances and application should be made immediately after enrolment. Please refer to the Online Examinations by Exception Policy (PDF, 254.5 KB) for more information.

The final day to make any changes to your examination mode is 10 July 2025. 

Requests to sit the examination online after this deadline will only be considered under exceptional circumstances that could not have been anticipated at the time of enrolment.
