Overview of the admission process

To apply for admission as a lawyer in New South Wales you need to:
  1. sign up to use the online Admission Portal
  2. register your application, by completing the online admission application form
  3. print your Admission Checklist, sign the Application Summary, scan them along with your documentary evidence into a single PDF, and email the PDF to the Office of the LPAB at lpab@justice.nsw.gov.au
  4. provide to the Office of the LPAB:

                a. an original/authenticated version of your Australian academic transcript(s)* AND

                b. an original/authenticated version of your Australian PLT letter of completion (unless you are a foreign-admitted lawyer exempted from PLT)

         in any of the following formats:

  • a digital link generated by the My eQuals digital credentials platform (without any Access PIN please), OR
  • a PDF copy that has been emailed to us directly from an official email address of the issuing institution.


*  If you met the academic prerequisite for admission though study in the LPAB's Diploma in Law Course, you do not need to send us your LPAB academic transcript as we have it in your student record.
