Admission as a Lawyer

To be admitted as a lawyer in New South Wales, you must apply to the Legal Profession Admission Board for a compliance certificate.

If approved, you must attend an admission ceremony at the Supreme Court t​o take an oath of office or make an affirmation of office, and to sign the Supreme Court Roll.​

Admission of lawyers in New South Wales is governed by the Legal Profession Admission Rules 2015 and Part 2.2 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW).
