Priority Areas

The Roadmap identifies the following priority work areas as vital to the transformation of the community services sector in NSW. These initiatives are being implemented progressively over the next few years in close partnership with the sector, to deliver long term change.

  1. Long Term Funding Arrangements: Establish preferred funding terms of up to five years for key community services.
  2. Community Services Funding Framework: Sets out how community services will be funded and managed, promoting fairness, transparency, and long-term planning.
  3. Community Services Jobs Compact: Develop a compact with the sector to stengthen job security for community sector workers. It sets out shared principles to uphold minimum labour standards and promote job security.
  4. Community Services Prequalification Scheme: Streamline funding applications by reducing duplication and administrative burden, creating efficiencies for both Government and service providers.

Consultation

The Roadmap was co-designed with over 179 individuals from 68 organisations, including sector peaks, service providers, frontline workers, and NSW Government agencies. It reflects consultation and shared aspirations for a sector that is stable, well-supported, and future-ready.
