Integrated Induction Program

Course overview

The CSNSW Integrated Induction Program is a mandatory foundation program for employees who will complete Certificate III or Certificate IV as part of their role. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the corrections environment and equips staff with the essential knowledge and behaviours expected of CSNSW employees.  

This program provides baseline understanding across key areas including 

  • Corrections industry within the context of the NSW jurisdiction

  • CSNSW organisation structure 

  • CSNSW values 

  • CSNSW purpose and strategic plan 

  • Code of conduct 

  • Respectful workplace relationships 

  • Maintaining professional boundaries 

  • Staff wellbeing 

  • Aboriginal and cultural awareness
  • Trauma informed practice
  • Working with culture and diversity 

Entry requirements

This program is mandatory for all CSNSW employees who are required to complete Certificate III or Certificate IV in Correctional Practice as part of their role.  Employees who must complete Certificate III or Certificate IV will automatically be enrolled when scheduled for primary training. 

Employees who are not undertaking these qualifications will complete their induction through the One Day Induction Program.

Delivery mode

This Integrated Induction is delivered face to face and forms the first week of an employee’s primary training.

Learners are required to complete

  • Five full days of face-to-face Integrated Induction workshops  
  • Post learning online modules, completed after the workshop week as part of an employee’s ongoing learning path
